If you didn t get your second stimulus check this way but want to receive a future third stimulus check through direct deposit you ll want to register with the irs on your 2020 tax return. Without a processed tax return some taxpayers may not receive an advance.

The eligibility rules for a second stimulus check have changed. Apparently the irs sent the stimulus checks to the account on file. Turbotax uses a temporary account for your tax refund deposit to withdraw their fees before sending it to your bank account.
